So I thought I’d give you a quick example of a daily way to speed up your metabolism and therefore burn more fat!
Supplementation – We need a variety of vitamins and minerals to run a healthy happy body, this in turn will help rev your metabolism. Try some multivitamins, fish oil, food enzymes and get some natural vitamin D from the sun during the day. Make sure these supplements are organic and pesticide free varieties.
Breakfast – Start the day with breakfast, this will jumpstart your metabolism and keep it going throughout the day. Make sure you include some source of protein like eggs.
Green Tea – Try some extra fat burning in a bag… Green tea is a great antioxidant and studies have shown that it will help burn more calories & speed your metabolism.
Mid-Morning – Snack time!! Eating every 3 to 4 hours stokes the metabolism. Try a handful of nuts and some fruit.
Midday (or morning) – Circuit training, power walk or run!
Lunch – Try a Protein packed Salad or left over’s from the night before(check out my recipes)
Mid-Afternoon – Snack Again – Carrots & Humus or Apple & Peanut Butter or Tin of Mackerel with fresh Organic Cut Vegetables
After Work – Interval Train – Alternating between periods of hard and easy work so that you’re not only burning more calories during your session but also burning up to 24 hours afterwards…. Keep the session short, around 20-25 minutes, look to push yourself out of your comfort zone on the hard periods!
Dinner – Spice up your dinner with chilli, cayenne pepper, hot mustard or garlic as any of these will heat you up, raising your metabolism again.
Relax & Sleep – When you are stressed your body releases Cortisol which sets off a hormonal chain reaction that makes you gain weight. Have a hot bath, read a book, or maybe do some yoga!
Lack of sleep has been linked to weight gain so it’s very important that you get at least 8 hours sleep a night. This also helps your muscles recover properly giving you more energy and getting them in better shape to burn fat by the next morning!
