Eating out with friends and family should be fun but, unfortunately, for people on a diet it can be a stressful occasion.

After all, there are so many temptations on a restaurant menu and there is always something else to try.

It’s also easy for well-meaning companions to derail your weight loss efforts through sheer generosity (we’ve all got the family member who won’t let us say no to a slice of cake!).

One of the main ways that people fall down at restaurant meals is that it almost feels like a ‘break’ from real life, where the rules don’t apply. The only problem is you have to wake up the next day and face the consequences regardless.
